Constraints on a Model with Pure Right-Handed Third Generation Couplings
نویسنده
چکیده
We examine constraints on a model with pure right-handed third generation charged couplings. The parameters of the right-handed mixing matrix and the right-handed coupling strength are constrained from semi-leptonic B decays, the mass difference of neutral mesons, the CP violating observables ǫ and ǫ/ǫ, and the electric dipole moment of the neutron. We find the model to be tightly constrained by these parameters with several fine tuning conditions on the phases in the right-handed mixing matrix. There is also a necessarily non-zero value of the WL-WR mixing parameter, ζg. CP asymmetry phases in neutral B decays are discussed. Typeset using REVTEX

Implications of a Purely Right-handed b-decay Coupling
We examine the implications of the hypothesis that the decays of the bottom quark occur via pure right-handed couplings . We show that the existing lower limits on the lifetimes for neutrinoless double beta decay severely restrict the neutrino sector of the model and would be satisfied in a natural manner if there is either an Le −Lμ or an Le −Lτ symmetry in the model. We then show that the cos...
متن کاملMuon anomalous magnetic moment and leptoquark solutions
The recent measurement of the muon anomalous magnetic moment am shows a 2.6s deviation from the standard model value. We show that it puts an interesting bound on the mass of the second generation leptoquarks. To account for the data the leptoquark must have both leftand right-handed couplings to the muon. Assuming that the couplings have electromagnetic strength, the mass is restricted in the ...
متن کاملMinireview of Leptoquark Searches
Leptoquarks are hypothetical bosons which couple to a lepton and a quark via a Yukawa coupling (denoted λ). In the Standard model, both quarks and leptons occur in left-handed SU(2) doublets and right-handed SU(2) singlets. The symmetry between quarks and leptons leads to the cancellation of triangle anomalies which make the SM renormalizable. Leptoquarks appear in theories[1] in which this sym...
متن کاملNeutrino - induced Electroweak Symmetry Breaking in Supersymmetric SO ( 10 ) Unification
The radiative electroweak symmetry breaking, the unification of third-generation Yukawa couplings, and flavor-changing rare decay are investigated in two types of supersymmetric SO(10) scenarios taking into account of the effects of neutrino physics, i.e. the observed large generation mixing and tiny mass scale. The first scenario is minimal, including right-handed neutrinos at intermediate sca...
متن کاملTests of non-standard electroweak couplings of right-handed quarks
The standard model can be interpreted as the leading order of a Low-Energy Effective Theory (LEET) invariant under a higher non linearly realized symmetry Snat ⊃ SU(2)W × U(1)Y equipped with a systematic power counting. Within the minimal version of this “not quite decoupling” LEET, the dominant non-standard effect appears at next-to-leading order (NLO) and is a modification of the couplings of...
